Introduction: Graphs of Functions

When both the input (independent variable) and the output (dependent variable) are real numbers, a function can be represented by a coordinate graph. The input is plotted on the horizontal x-axis and the output is plotted on the vertical y-axis. In this lesson you will do the following:
  • Graph linear functions using tables
  • Graph quadratic functions using tables
  • Graph radical functions using tables
  • Identify important features of graphs of linear functions, quadratic functions, and radical functions

The learning activities for this outcome include:

  • Read: Graph Linear Functions
  • Self-Check: Graph Linear Functions
  • Read: Graph Quadratic Functions
  • Self-Check: Graph Quadratic Functions
  • Read: Graph Radical Functions
  • Self-Check: Graph Radical Functions
